Hyperrealistic Sculpture

FEBRUARY 26, 2026 - OCTOBER 12, 2026

Bringing together over 30 sculptures by 25 international artists, Hyperrealistic Sculpture shows the evolution of the human figure in sculpture since the 1970s.

The selection includes works by leading international exponents of hyperrealist sculpture – Duane Hanson, George Segal, Ron Mueck, Patricia Piccinini, Maurizio Cattelan and many others – as well as works by Quebec artists working in the same spirit.

These artists create strikingly realistic sculptures that confront us with our own humanity, offering some of the most significant creations in contemporary sculpture. Their works deal with universal subjects – childhood, old age, loneliness – and explore themes of simulacra, genetic manipulation and self-awareness.

Organized by the Institut für Kulturaustausch in Tübingen (Germany), the exhibition has been shown at the National Gallery of Australia, the Kunsthal Rotterdam, the Museo de Bellas Artes in Bilbao and the Musée Maillol in Paris.
